Chattanooga City Council appoints Fred Fletcher as police chief

Chattanooga has a new police chief.

City Council gave Fred Fletcher a unanimous vote of approval tonight. With a vote of confirmation, city officials say Fletcher is expected to start by June.

"Congratulations chief," council chairman Chip Henderson told Fletcher as the audience broke into applauds.
