O'Koyea Dickson popped out to second base to open Wednesday afternoon's fifth inning for the Chattanooga Lookouts.

In his second at-bat of the fifth, Dickson launched a two-run home run to center field to cap an eight-run outburst as Chattanooga rolled to a 17-6 win over Huntsville at AT&T Field. There were a lot of schoolchildren among the crowd of 5,386, and there were a lot of runners on the bases as the Lookouts and Stars combined for 28 hits and nine walked batters in the three-hour, 30-minute game.

The eight-run eruption followed a top of the fifth inning in which Huntsville loaded the bases with two out but couldn't convert, thus preserving Chattanooga's 6-5 lead.

After Dickson popped up, Scott Schebler and Chris O'Brien hit consecutive doubles, Daniel Mayora drew a walk, Noel Cuevas tripled and pinch-hitter Brian Cavazos-Galvez singled. Leadoff batter Darnell Sweeney flied out, but the Lookouts went right back at it with doubles by Erisbel Arruebarrena and Jeremy Hazelbaker that preceded the homer by Dickson.

The Lookouts, who improved to 16-23, were scheduled to leave later Wednesday for a five-game series in Mobile that starts tonight.

Huntsville's Josh Prince opened the second inning with a home run to left that put the Stars (26-14) up 1-0, and Adam Weisenburger followed with a double to center. A Jacob Barnes walk and a Nick Shaw bunt single coupled with two Lookouts errors resulted in Huntsville extending its lead to 4-0.

Lookouts starting pitcher Garrett Gould had one of those errors but atoned for it later in the second with a double to right-center that drove in two runs. The Lookouts trailed 5-3 in the fourth inning but quickly tied it when O'Brien singled and Mayora hit a homer to right-center.

Chattanooga took its first lead moments after Mayora's homer when a Sweeney bloop single scored Cuevas.

Nick Struck is scheduled to start for the Lookouts in tonight's 8:05 EDT opener, with Bradin Hangens (0-2, 3.15) scheduled for the BayBears.
