MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Dickson County rallied with four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and defeated Soddy-Daisy 6-4 in the winners-bracket final of the TSSAA Class AAA state softball tournament Thursday night at the Starplex No. 1 field.

Soddy-Daisy (37-9) will play Gibbs today at 10 a.m. EDT in the losers-bracket final. The winner will play Dickson County (43-7) in the final at 4 with a second championship game at 7:30, if necessary.

The Lady Trojans' Haley Reynolds went 2-for-4 with three RBIs, including a two-run homer in the third inning that put them up 4-1.

"Hats off to them," Soddy-Daisy coach Wes Skiles said. "Once we got to four, we kind of got satisfied with four. Even down 6-4 I was still thinking, 'We've got a chance.' We had the top of the order coming up. It just didn't happen that time."

Selena Crafton went 4-for-4 for Dickson County. She had the tiebreaking single in the sixth, and winning pitcher Brooklin Lee singled in the final run.

"We've been in situations like that before and it didn't happen," Dickson County coach Shane Buchanan said of trailing late. "Soddy-Daisy has a wonderful team. We got a couple of breaks, which is what happened to Soddy-Daisy early."

Brooke Hale had a single, drove in a run and scored a run for the Lady Trojans.
