Three men prominently featured in the newspaper's "Speak No Evil" series in December have been arrested on gun charges in separate incidents within the last two months. They face June court dates.

Dominic Wright, or "Skream," and Oshae Smith, also known as "Thumpa Mac," are scheduled to appear in Hamilton County General Sessions Court on Tuesday.

Lee Clements Jr., or "Tone Tone," is scheduled to appear June 11.

All three were close associates of Eric Fluellen, who was shot and killed in March 2013. But the trio came under scrutiny for their possible role in Fluellen's death, which the Times Free Press examined in an award-winning project on the city's "no-snitch" culture of violence.

Clements, 19, was charged with criminal homicide in August in connection with Fluellen's death. A Hamilton County grand jury ultimately chose not to indict him in February.

Records show that just weeks after walking free, Clements was again arrested, this time for unlawful possession of a firearm and theft over $500.

Police found a loaded .40-caliber handgun in the glove box of the vehicle he was riding in April 11. The gun was stolen.

Wright, 22, and Smith, 19, have been booked on similar charges this month.

Police arrested Wright on May 11 on warrants stemming from an April 26 incident on the Westside in which investigators said he dropped a handgun behind a bush while police were in the area. He is charged with unlawful possession of a weapon.

Smith, who recently appeared on the Hamilton County Sheriff's most wanted list, was arrested Wednesday and charged with possessing a firearm during the commission of a felony. Police found that the gun had been stolen from a vehicle on Market Street on May 20.

He is also facing charges of theft, reckless endangerment, criminal trespassing, assault and drugs.

All three have extensive criminal records but have largely avoided serving long prison terms.
