Lillian Colby adds three

The Lillian L. Colby Charitable Foundation has added three new members to its board of directors: BettyeLynn Smith, Howard Roddy and Dr. Kathleen Hunt.

BettyeLynn Smith brings extensive leadership experience in the nonprofit, for-profit and government sectors. Since 2012, Smith has managed Thornhill-Smith LLC, a management consulting firm in Chattanooga.

Before founding the company, Smith served as executive director of Community Impact of Chattanooga, which was responsible for revitalizing seven local inner-city communities.

Smith is currently involved in the community through her work as a trustee of the University of Chattanooga Foundation, a member of the Chattanooga Area Convention & Visitors Bureau board and a member of the Rotary Club of Chattanooga.

Howard Roddy has more than 30 years of experience in health care management and leadership. Appointed in 2010 to the Tennessee Board of Regents by Gov. Phil Bredesen, Roddy serves as a member of the Ascension Health Senior Care board of directors and as vice chairman of the Chattanooga Area Salvation Army advisory board. Roddy is also a past chairman of the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Regional Health Council.

Dr. Kathleen Hunt, who currently practices medicine at Children's Hospital at Erlanger, is also actively engaged in the community, serving on the boards of several community organizations, including The Lyndhurst Foundation, Bright School, The Trust for Public Land, A Step Ahead and Chattanooga Elite Basketball. After completing her residency in pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine and working in pediatric emergency medicine in Houston, Texas, Hunt graduated from Harvard Business School in 2001.
