Jones leads win for basketball Crusaders

Bryan Jones scored 16 points and Cam High and Weedlens Beauvil added 14 and 12 as the Tennessee Temple men's basketball team beat Blue Mountain 77-67 in Bethel University's tournament Saturday.

High and Travaris Clarke grabbed seven rebounds each for the Crusaders (2-1), Clarke also contributing four assists.

Lee University lost its men's exhibition against visiting Martin Methodist in overtime, 79-71, despite 20 points by Cory Billingsley and 11 points, eight rebounds and four assists by Cody Farley. Josh Watson had 22 points, 10 rebounds and four assists for Martin Methodist.

Lee's Lady Flames won 78-52 in their home exhibition against Bryan as Emileigh Swafford scored 19 points, Erin Walsh scored 16, Kayla Beavers added 11 and Shelby Brown had 12 rebounds with 10 points. Megan Billingsby had 19 points and seven rebounds and Keila Formont and Victoria Griffin scored 10 points each for Bryan.

Cleveland State's Lady Cougars improved to 4-0, 2-0 in the TCCAA, with an 83-68 home win over Southwest Tennessee that featured 29 points and 10 rebounds by Jamesha Mosley, but the Cougars lost 83-56 as Johnathan Burroughs-Cook and Jimario Rivers scored 21 points each for the Memphis school's men. Rico Overall had 11 points and eight rebounds for Cleveland State (2-2, 1-1).
