Chattanooga City Council moves on two controversial ordinances

After two years, the Chattanooga City Council made big strides tonight on two issues which have vexed residents and officials alike.

Council members passed ordinances on both a long-debated animal control ordinance and controversial stormwater regulations. The ordinances were both passed on first read and will need to be passed again to be adopted.

The animal control ordinance will be voted upon again next week. But the stormwater guidelines will be voted upon in two weeks, to ensure the full council is present.
