Chattanooga shopping center sells for $22.75 million

One of Hixson's biggest shopping centers has changed hands after about three years as an Ohio-based real estate company has bought Oak Park Town Center for $22.75 million.

The Highway 153 center, which holds Walmart and recently added Gander Mountain and Burkes, was purchased by Devonshire, a Whitehouse, Ohio-based real estate investment trust.

The seller was Oak Park Partners LLC of Rome, Ga., which bought the shopping center in December 2011 for $9 million at an auction.

The center was built in 2001 by Wolford Development.
