Staff Report

Almost Home Transitional Housing, a nonprofit agency in Franklin County, Tenn., will host an evening of entertainment with singer Jimmy Wayne on Saturday, Nov. 22, at North Middle School, 2990 Decherd Blvd. in Winchester. In "My Story, My Song," Wayne shares his journey from homeless teen to country music success story.

A survivor of homelessness and a staunch advocate for homeless youth, Wayne turned to music to overcome his difficult childhood. His hits include "Do You Believe Me Now," "I Love You This Much" and his cover of the 1976 Hall and Oates classic "Sara Smile."

He is also the author of the holiday-themed novel "Paper Angels" and his just-released autobiography, "Walk To Beautiful: The Power of Love and a Homeless Kid Who Found the Way."

Almost Home's mission is to provide transitional housing and money-management lessons for individuals and families while working with other agencies to obtain permanent housing.

Doors open at 6 p.m., and entertainment begins at 7 p.m. with performances by Noah Hinshaw, Johnny Hand and Chyrell Sells (all times are Central).

General-admission tickets are $10, and floor seats are $20. Money also will be raised through sales of concessions and a silent auction. All proceeds benefit Almost Home.
