'Piano Men' recalls 70s-era songs by John, Joel

Entertainer Jim Witter will take a multimedia musical journey through the 1970s in a Presidential Concert Series show Friday, Nov. 21, at Lee University in Cleveland, Tenn. "The Piano Men" features the music of Elton John and Billy Joel. Witter will be accompanied by the Lee Symphony Orchestra, led by Robert Bernhardt.

In addition to his "Piano Men" show, Witter performs country and contemporary Christian music. His songwriting and musical talents have won him multiple awards and nominations from the Canadian Country Music Association, the Juno Awards and, most recently, the Dove Awards in Nashville, where his "Forgiveness" was nominated for Inspirational Album of the Year. He has had 10 Top 10 radio hits in Canada, seven hit videos on CMT and charted songs in the U.S. on both the Billboard and R&R charts. Friday's Presidential Concert Series event will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the Conn Center, intersection of Parker and 11th streets. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for seniors and students.
