If Thanksgiving at your house is a "gobble 'til you wobble" day, then maybe you should get your exercise before the meal - while you can still fit through the front door. Among your options are three 5K runs/walks scheduled first thing next Thursday morning, Nov. 27.
• Grateful Gobbler Walk: This 15th annual event will start at 8 a.m. at Coolidge Park, 150 River St. Cost is $25 for participants 13 and older, $10 for ages 12 and younger.
All proceeds will benefit the new Shelter for Homeless Families to be built at the Chattanooga Community Kitchen on East 11th Street. A first-of-its-kind facility, the shelter will enable families to remain together as they search for permanent housing.

This year's proceeds will go to Northside Neighborhood House, Jim Wilson Fund at Soddy-Daisy Middle School, Sale Creek Middle/High School and the Dallas Bay Volunteer Firefighters Fund. Participants are also asked to bring canned goods on the day of the race for the Soddy-Daisy Food Bank.
