This time of year, Santa and his elves are fairly easy to spot as they go about their holiday duties. Reindeer, not so much.

Unless you're at The Hilltop Christmas, a family-owned wonderland in Harrison that takes guests on a sort of sleigh ride through thousands of Christmas lights to see Santa and the herd.

Spokesman Jeff Chambers says about 35 people can fit in each "sleigh," tractor-pulled trailers built especially for the adventure with seating and backrests.

"Toward the end of the ride, you get off at Santa's workshop and see the live deer," he says. "Kids can decorate gingerbread cookies for $5, and you can have your photo taken with Santa ($5). We also have a candy shop with fresh candy, souvenirs and more. Lots to see."

Outdoor heaters are located along the path to Santa, and there's a bonfire at each stopping point, he says. Christmas music and children's movies play throughout the event.

The theme park will be open Fridays and Saturdays through Dec. 20.
