2 hurt in Chattanooga home invasion

A man forced his way into a Chattanooga house early Friday morning and shot a man inside, police said.

The attacker also assaulted a woman during the home invasion, which happened at 4:43 a.m. at 2708 North Chamberlain Ave., near Glass Street, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department.

Tequla Nicole Watkins, 28, was assaulted and Henry Lee Bennett, 24, was shot once in the leg.

No suspect has been identified by police.

Both victims were taken to an area hospital for treatment of injuries police said were not life-theatening.

Police have not released any motive for the attack.
