Three artists' 'Connections' opens at River Gallery - Oct. 3

Three artists brought together by a passion for their craft will explore their "Connections" in this month's exhibit at River Gallery, 400 E. Second St. Tennessee artist Nancy Jacobsohn is inspired by the spirit of ancient Chinese, Indian and Etruscan artifacts for her guardian animal masks, above. North Carolina artist Lisa Klakulak creates contemporary fiber pieces meant to symbolize the security and protection of structure, right. Georgia artist Scott Hill's translucent paint layers often depict figures encompassed by their surroundings, above right. "Connections" will be on display through Friday, Oct. 31, and all the artists will be present at the opening reception from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3. Jacobsohn also will give a free clay demonstration from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4. Gallery hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Saturday, 1-5 p.m. Sunday.
