Randall Miller Berry, 51, of Rainsville Ala., was taken into custody on Friday after investigators seized computers and cell phones during a child porn investigation. The Department of Human Resources and the Child Advocacy Center are working with officers as they continue to investigate this case. The computers and phones will be examined by the FBI and additional charges may be presented to the District Attorney or U.S. Attorney if they meet the criteria for Federal prosecution, according to the release.
Berry is charged with production of obscene material, which is a felony, and he is currently being held in the DeKalb County Detention Center awaiting bond.
"We hope to gain more information once these devices are examined by the FBI," Sheriff Jimmy Harris said in the release. "What I have seen so far is very disturbing, but we don't know how far it goes yet."
