Cleveland, Tenn., police say a woman wanted by authorities staged a fake hostage situation early this morning.
The incident happened in a home at 1202 Wildwood Lake Road, according to a news release from the Cleveland Police Department.
Shortly after 3:20 a.m., authorities attempted to serve arrest warrants for 31-year-old Megan Haire, but no contact was made with the subject, the release stated.
Half an hour later, the 911 Center received a call from a female inside the home claiming to be the victim in a hostage situation. S.W.A.T. and hostage negotiators were dispatched to the scene.
Authorities later confirmed that the hostage situation was a hoax by the wanted female, according to the release.
Haire was placed into custody and transported to the Bradley County Justice Center.
