Chattanoogans Zan Guerry and Ned Caswell finished second Sunday in the USTA National Men's 50 Clay Court Championships doubles tournament in Sarasota, Fla.

Caswell, the general manager and director of tennis at the Manker Patten Tennis Club, and Guerry, whose name is on the Manker Patten clubhouse, also finished second in late August in the national grass court tournament in Philadelphia.

At Sarasota, they defeated fourth-seeded Jeffrey Burnett of North Palm Beach, Fla., and Mitchell Perkins of Seattle in the semifinals, 7-6(4), 6-3. But then they lost 6-2, 7-5 to top-seeded Andrew Stoner of Cave Creek, Ariz., and Ken White of Elma, N.Y., in the championship match.

White was on the winning team also in Philadelphia, where Stoner was the singles champion.
