The Cleveland Police Department has received several donations from private citizens which has increased the reward offered to anyone who comes forward with information regarding the kitten that was intentionally set on fire earlier this month.

The department estimates that the reward is more than $1,000, according to a news release from Evie West, public information officer for the Cleveland Police Department.

The kitten was brought to the Bradley-McMinn Pet Emergency Clinic last week with burns covering 90 percent of its body. The back leg of the kitten will have to be amputated due to the extent of its injuries.

It has been reported that a group of young males are responsible for burning the kitten, and the Cleveland Police Department School Resource Officers have been notified, the release said.

Anyone interested in contributing to the reward may donate to a special account at the City of Cleveland Municipal Building, located at 190 Church Street N.E. Anyone with information regarding this crime is asked to call the Cleveland Police Department Tip Line at 423-559-3396.
