Boys Choir, Ladies of Lee in concert Sunday night - Oct. 19

The Chattanooga Boys Choir and Ladies of Lee at Lee University will combine for a concert on Sunday at 6 p.m. in McEwen Chapel of First Baptist Church, 401 Gateway Ave.

The concert will feature each choir individually then singing together for the finale.

The Boys Choir includes more than 120 boys from 30 public, private and parochial schools in the region.

"I am excited about this collaboration," says Vincent Oakes, Boys Choir director. "Audience members will be treated to a fantastic experience, blending together different ages, sounds, musical timbres and repertoire in one program."

Ladies of Lee is one of several choral ensembles in the School of Music at Lee University in Cleveland, Tenn. Its 40 females are chosen through audition, and they perform a repertoire of diverse styles.

"This concert will be a wonderful 'homecoming' as the Ladies of Lee add this to our tour of the Southeastern United States. The students are very excited about this one," says Jonathan Rodgers, Ladies of Lee director.

Admission is free, but a free-will offering will be collected to help defray touring and concert expenses of both groups.
