Red Octopus Theater @ The Public Theatre — 02.04
This Valentine’s Day-themed production focused its comedy wit on the dating game with sketches on perfume and chocolate ads as well as PSAs on the hazards of this season of love. Needless to say, the show was for mature audiences only.
Best Cellars honors Wine Over Water sponsors
• What: CornerStones Inc. sponsored a Best Cellars party the night before Wine Over Water, the nonprofit's biggest fundraiser, to honor event sponsors. The party at The Chattanoogan included a silent auction, hors d'oeuvres and the chance to sample 150 premium wines.
• Benefits: Wine Over Water helps fund CornerStones' efforts to preserve Chattanooga's historic buildings.
Bark in the Park fun for pets, owners
• What: Bark in the Park was held in East Brainerd's Heritage Park on Oct. 11 offering free fun for dogs and their owners. The pet party kicked off with a Spooky Pooch Parade, followed by canine agility demonstrations, an adoption fair, as well as "dogs at work" shows by police and service dogs. Discounted rabies shots and microchipping were also offered.
• Benefits: Friends of East Brainerd's fund to improve the community dog park.
