Woman jailed after allegedly stabbing 61-year-old man in neck

A 23-year-old woman has been charged with attempted first degree murder after police say she stabbed a 61-year-old man in the neck Sunday during an argument about money.

The incident happened around 6:30 p.m. at 1121 N. Chamberlain Avenue, according to police.

Michael Davis told police that he and the woman, Carlisha Anderson, had been in a sexual relationship for several months. He said he'd been helping to pay for Anderson's rent and other expenses during the relationship.

On Sunday, Anderson demanded more money from him, Davis told police. Instead of giving her more money, Davis told her that from then on, he'd only pay for her rent and not any of Anderson's other expenses.

He said that Anderson then stabbed him in the neck with a sharp object and ran. Davis said he wasn't sure what Anderson had used as a weapon, according to the affidavit.

Davis lost a large amount of blood and the cut narrowly missed his jugular vein, according to the affidavit.

When interviewed by police, Anderson denied having a sexual relationship with Davis and told police she hadn't left her house all day. She said that Davis paid for her bills because "she was cute and he wanted to take care of her," according to the affidavit.

The pair met at work, she said. Anderson and Davis are both employees of the Times Free Press.

She said that Davis told her it was his daughter who attacked him. She also told police that Davis told her his daughter attacked him with a knife.

Anderson is being held in the Hamilton County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
