1 arrested, charged in fatal shooting at pizza restaurant

COLUMBIA, Tenn. - Police in central Tennessee have arrested a teenager and charged him with shooting and killing a man while robbing a Papa John's restaurant.

Columbia police told The Tennessean that 17-year-old Darious A. Fitzpatrick shot and killed 22-year-old Gordon Schaffer of Spring Hill on Monday night.

Police also charged Fitzpatrick with stealing cash at gunpoint from two local Dollar Generals this month.

Fitzpatrick is in custody facing charges of first-degree murder, felony murder, especially aggravated robbery, two counts of aggravated robbery, using a gun as a felon, using a stolen gun, and three counts of using a gun during a felony.

The investigation is ongoing.

Jail records did not list an attorney for Fitzpatrick.
