She said yes!

Times Free Press readers couldn't help but notice Jamie Tricoglou's floral-edged, quarter-page ad in Wednesday's paper. There it was in black-and-white: Tracy Fultz. Will You Marry Me?

"I had been thinking about the idea for awhile," says Tricoglou, 34, a construction estimator. "She's the love of my life, great to my son, and I thought, 'I'm going to go big or go home.'"

Fultz, 42, a contract coordinator at Memorial Hospital, says Tricoglou has been her son's pitching coach for six years.

Both were married when they met, she says, and he asked her out after both became single.

Tricoglou set up his grand gesture on Tuesday, telling Fultz that their Realtor was going to run a photo of them -- possibly in Wednesday's paper -- as satisfied clients who had bought a new home. No sooner had they begun moving into that new home on Wednesday morning when he suggested they go get coffee.

"We are in the middle of a move and you want to go get coffee? Downtown?" she asked incredulously, before agreeing.

After picking up their drinks, he suggested they walk over to the Bluff View Art District's sculpture garden and check the paper to see whether their photo was it.

"I flipped to the page, and she froze. Then she said, 'You did not!'" Tricoglou said, laughing at the success of his surprise. He added that the surprise was tough to keep -- her phone started ringing early that morning, but the move kept them busy.

"He got down on a knee -- I can't even remember what he said now," Fultz said, laughing. "It's a dream come true. I love him and his son so much. I'm the luckiest girl in the world."
