Sunday star-gazing at Jones Observatory through Dec. 7

photo "The Moon You Think You Know" is the featured topic the next two Sundays at Jones Observatory, which has announced programs for its fall schedule. Each program topic will be offered twice during the series, but the changing night sky will offer a different featured constellation most weeks.

Jones Observatory, operated off-campus by the UTC Physics and Astronomy Department, is set to begin its fall season of programming.

Programs take place Sundays through Dec. 7, with the exception of Nov. 30, which is Thanksgiving weekend. The schedule will adjust for the end of daylight-saving time on Nov. 2.

The observatory is at 10 Tuxedo Ave., north of Brainerd Road and Belvoir Avenue. Those with mobility issues may avoid the walking path to the front entrance by parking in the lot behind Brainerd United Methodist Church, 4315 Brainerd Road, and following the trail by the cemetery to the back entrance.

Admission is free.
