Update at 1:14 p.m.: The police are leaving the scene. They've determined there is not a threat. The building was evacuated but workers are now returning to their desks.
A bomb threat has been phoned into the Republic Centre in Chattanooga, which a police spokesman says is the third threat directed against the building in recent months.
The last bomb threat was received in August.
News reports suggest that the building is being evacuated.
Police procedure is to allow the owner of the building to determine whether the threat is treated as real. The Jim Berry Co. owns the Republic Centre.
