Walmart has signaled that it will hire nearly 100 new full- and part-time workers to staff its forthcoming Walmart Neighborhood Market planned for Fort Oglethorpe.

To accomodate the expected influx, the company is opening a temporary hiring center across from the current Walmart Supercenter in Fort Oglethorpe, the company announced in a news release.

"I am excited to bring the first Walmart Neighborhood Market to Fort Oglethorpe," said Casey Robertson, store manager. "Walmart provides a great opportunity for career growth, and I am eager to meet energetic applicants ready to come on board."

Workers will begin their jobs in December as the new store prepares for its grand opening.

Qualified veterans who have been honorably discharged within the past 12 months will receive special consideration, and the retail giant provides a bevy of health and retirement benefits that vary based on whether a worker is full- or part-time.
