A Bradley County man has been charged with stealing from rental storage units and stashing the loot in his own rental unit.

According to a news release, members of the Bradley County Sheriff's Office's Criminal Investigation Division executed a search warrant at a storage unit rented by Gary Eli Gibson, 44, of Cleveland.

While searching the unit, officers found items stolen from several other storage units.

The officers found suspected methamphetamine in several baggies, multiple plastic bags used for packaging narcotics, digital scales and a small amount of suspected marijuana. Officers also seized $1,675 dollars in cash.

After the two search warrants were executed, a large number of stolen items were recovered, including pieces of mid-century furniture valued at more than $10,000.

Gibson was jailed on charges of burglary, theft over $10,000, possession of stolen property, alteration of a vehicle identification number, possession of Schedule II narcotics for resale and possession of Schedule IV narcotics.
