'Carmen' next in Met series

Mezzo-soprano Anita Rachvelishvili sings the signature role of the ill-fated gypsy temptress in Bizet's "Carmen," the next production in The Met: Live in HD series of broadcasts to two area theaters: East Ridge 18, 5080 South Terrace, and Hamilton Place 8, 2000 Hamilton Place Blvd. The live broadcast is scheduled for 12:55 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, with an encore at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5. Aleksandrs Antonenko plays her desperate lover, the soldier Don José, and Ildar Abdrazakov is the swaggering bullfighter, Escamillo, who comes between them.
