Three wineries on Ocoee Grape Escape - Nov. 1st

Ocoee Grape Escape stops> Morris Vineyards: 346 Union Grove Road, Charleston, Tenn., 423-479-7311.> Ocoee Winery: 5365 Waterlevel Highway, Cleveland, Tenn., 423-614-5100.> Savannah Oaks Winery: 1918 Delano Road, Delano, Tenn., 423-263-2762.

Three wineries along the Ocoee River in Southeast Tennessee will take part in a coordinated Wine Trail experience on Saturday, Nov. 1.

The regional wine tour, dubbed the Ocoee Grape Escape, will take place from 3 to 8 p.m. at Savannah Oaks Winery in Delano, Morris Vineyards in Charleston and Ocoee Winery in Cleveland. At each stop, eventgoers can tour the vineyards, take in the views, taste various award-winning wines, sample local fare and enjoy live music.

"It doesn't matter where you start your escape or where you end, each winery will have musical entertainment, hors d'oeuvres and wine tastings for your enjoyment," says Polk County Chamber of Commerce President Tom Tohill. "That ... should also be the peak of the fall colors, so the short drive from one winery to the next will be beautiful."

Now in its second year, the Ocoee Grape Escape was created by the Polk County Chamber to enhance agri-tourism and the local agricultural economy.

The Chamber and First Volunteer Bank will provide hors d'oeuvres. Visitors also can sample products from agricultural producers such as Apple Valley Orchards and Sweetwater Valley Farm and local caterer Sweets n' Treats.

Tickets are $25 and include a commemorative wine glass. Those purchasing tickets must be at least 21 years old and show a photo ID. Tickets are available at participating wineries or the Polk County Chamber of Commerce, 1697 Highway 64 in Benton.
