Les Miserables Takes Top Honors at Miss Annie Awards
What: The 90th anniversary season of the Chattanooga Theatre Centre culminated with its annual Miss Annie Awards, the "Oscars" of the local community theater, on Aug. 23. The season's finale production, "Les Miserables," was the night's big winner, taking 12 awards, followed by "To Kill A Mockingbird" with eight and "Xanadu" with six.
"The Taming of the Shew" was voted Outstanding Circle Theatre Play, "Xanadu" won Outstanding Musical Production in the Circle, and "Pump Boys and Dinettes" was voted Audience Favorite Circle Production.
Earlier that day, the CTC's Sonia Young Youth Awards were presented. "Wiley and the Hairy Man" took home top honors as best Youth Theatre production.
