Tesla Motors, the maker of the Model S electric sedan, has expanded its Supercharger network with the opening the first Tennessee Supercharger in Chattanooga.

The Supercharger is located at the intersection of I-75 and I-24 at 1001 Airport Road.

It will allow Tesla Model S owners to drive free between Nashville, Knoxville, and Atlanta, according to a news release from the company.

The Chattanooga Supercharger is also along a route which will soon connect Chicago and Miami.

Superchargers are designed for city to city travel, allowing Tesla Model S electric vehicle drivers to travel for about three hours, take a 20 to 30 minute break, and get back on the road charged up.
