Michigan man wanted on attempted murder charge arrested in Chattanooga

A Michigan man wanted on attempted murder and other charges was arrested by the Tennessee Highway Patrol on Interstate 24 in Chattanooga, according to a THP news release.

Michigan authorities had warned the THP to be on the lookout for Mikos L. Harper, 26, of Mount Morris, Mich., in the area. The Michigan State Police said Harper was a fugitive, armed and dangerous, and possibly was driving a 2006 black Chevy Malibu with a Michigan license tag.

Trooper Steven Bourque, patrolling near mile marker 180 shortly after 10 a.m., saw a speeding black Malibu with a Michigan plate. He and two THP sergeants stopped the vehicle and took Harper into custody.

Harper is now in the Hamilton County Jail awaiting extradition to Michigan on warrants charging him with two counts of assault with intent to commit murder, home invasion 1st degree, discharging a firearm from a vehicle, discharging a firearm in a building, carrying a concealed weapon, and felony firearms possession.
