Erlanger names Campbell as cardiology chief

Charles Campbell has been appointed chief of cardiology for UT Erlanger Cardiology.

Dr. Campbell comes to Erlanger from Lexington, Ky., were he served as associate professor of medicine, director of cardiovascular disease fellowship program, co-program director of clinical scholar-in-training in cardiovascular science program and director of in-patient services, division of cardiovascular medicine at the University of Kentucky.

Board certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine, Dr. Campbell earned his medical degree from Michigan State University, completed his internship and residency at Keesler Medical Center Air Force Base and fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Wilford Hall Medical Center at Lackland Air Force Base. He specializes in cardiovascular medicine, echocardiography, cardiovascular critical care and heart failure.

Prior to his positions at University of Kentucky, Dr. Campbell worked as a critical care air transport leader in Germany and Iraq and as a staff cardiologist at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. He has been a member and organizer of several committees and professional societies in cardiovascular medicine and participated as a speaker in numerous cardiology conferences and as an editor and peer reviewer for national cardiology publications.

Hill promoted at Pratt Homes

Pratt Home Builders announced Kelly Hill has been named director of production. Hill will be the conduit for information transfer between the sales and design process to the field construction team and responsible for new home starts. She has been with Pratt Homes since 2007 serving in roles such as interior designer, estimator and production coordinator. Her multifaceted experience has prepared her for this role which requires extensive knowledge of home construction, estimating, Autocad design and purchasing systems.


Two at FastSigns recognized

Two outside sales professionals from FastSigns of Chattanooga were recognized with outstanding sales achievement awards at the 2014 FastSigns Outside Sales Summit held in Frisco, Texas.

David Murphy received the Platinum Sales Award, which recognizes those who achieved sales of $900,000 or more in a year. With more than 550 FastSigns centers worldwide, only 10 Outside Sales Professionals received this award.

Reis Costa received the Bronze Sales Award, which recognizes those who achieved sales between $200,000 and $399,000 in a year.

EMJ announces promotions

EMJ Corporation announced several promotions to key positions in the Chattanooga office effective at the end of the year.

Doug Martin, a 21 year EMJ veteran who has been serving as executive vice president, has been named chief operating officer of EMJ Corporation and will oversee the operation of all EMJ offices. Clint Dean, who will succeed Martin as executive vice president, began his career at EMJ as a cooperation education student while attending Auburn University and recently held the position of vice president of construction. Succeeding him in that role is Jack Bowen, who has been with EMJ since 2005 and will oversee all construction operations for the Chattanooga office.

Alex Grace, who came to EMJ to develop the hospitality division, was promoted to executive vice president of EMJ Hospitality; and Jonathan Horne, who began his career at EMJ as a student at the University of Tennessee, will oversee EMJ's corporate quality control program, Prime QC, as the director of quality control.

"We have a tremendous amount of talent at EMJ, which is evident in these individuals" EMJ CEO Jay Jolley said. "We look forward to this transition, allowing our family of companies to continue to have success and growth."


Morris, Higgins open business

Jared Higgins and Kurt Morris have opened Electrician Ready, which can service projects ranging from installation of a simple outlet to the rewiring of an existing structure. The new business will offer a one-year guarantee on their work and have a 24-hour hot-line for all customers.

Electrician Ready is part of the Painter Ready family, which Kurt owns with his brother Ken Morris.

"Electrician Ready seemed like a natural extension of our 'Ready' brand and service," said Morris. 'We are very excited to be working with electrician Jared Higgins. He brings a lot of experience and leadership to the Electrician Ready team."

Higgins is a master electrician and has years of experience working on historic homes like those found in St. Elmo. He is experienced in working with the inspectors in St. Elmo and the surrounding Chattanooga area.

Dr. Qutob joins pulmonary unit

Pulmonary Medicine Center of Chattanooga has added Hisham F. Qutob to the Buz Standefer Lung Center.

Dr. Qutob is a graduate of the University of Utah at Salt Lake City. He completed his internship, residency and fellowship in Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine at Wake Forest School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, N.C. Dr. Qutob is board certified.

Spires elected to NAWDP board

The National Association of Workforce Development Professionals (NAWDP) has elected Tim L. Spires as vice chairman. Spires was selected by his peers to join with the other members of the executive committee to lead the organization through the implementation of the new workforce legislation, the Workforce Innovation and Opportunities Act (WIOA), as well as efforts to strengthen the skills of workforce development professionals.

Spires is the president and CEO of the Tennessee Association of Manufacturers (TAM), headquartered in Chattanooga. He is a certified workforce development professional (CWDP).

"Tim Spires exemplifies the highest degree of professionalism and commitment to excellence," said NAWDP executive director Bridget Brown. "He is an innovative leader with vast experience in creating successful partnerships that enhance services and promote quality improvement."

Spires earned a B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Cincinnati and an MBA from the University of Tennessee. He has over 30 years of experience in all functions of the manufacturing sector.

Garrity, Shope join Thunder

Celichowski is new Unum VP

Michael Celichowski as a new vice president in finance at the Chattanooga-based Unum Group. In his new role, Celichowski will oversee the development and success of Unum's corporate actuary functions pertaining to pricing, governance and matters of risk.

Celichowski joins Unum from CUNA Mutual Group in Madison, Wisc., where he served as the vice president of capital management. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin at Madison, where he received a bachelor's degree in business.

Krabbendam joins FirstBank

Richard Krabbendam has joined FirstBank as vice president and commercial relationship manager in Chattanooga. In this position, he will help increase FirstBank's market presence and visibility by developing and servicing quality commercial relationships in Chattanooga and surrounding communities.

Krabbendam, a University of Tennessee at Chattanooga graduate, entered the banking industry as a commercial lender in 1989. Prior to joining FirstBank, Krabbendam held executive and finance leadership positions for private manufacturing firms in Maryland, Tennessee and Texas, where he learned the importance of the relationship-centered approach to banking.
