Project: Arby's near Exit 1 in East Ridge.
Location: 6302 Ringgold Road.
Owners: Restaurant Management Inc., Cincinnati, Ohio.
Why now: RMI officials said the Arby's building on site was outdated and in need of an upgrade.
History: The old Ringgold Road Arby's was built in the late 1970s. The building was one of the rectangular, cafeteria-style Arby's buildings. The new store's exterior will feature the pinnacle design, marked by a glass tower at the entrance.
Scope: RMI owns 18 Arby's restaurants in the greater-Chattanooga area and has plans to upgrade eight or nine more by this time next year.
Contractor: Ambrosetti Construction LLC., Chattanooga.
Architect: RMI in-house personnel.
Amenities: The new Arby's will seat around 40 diners and offer free Wi-Fi. The dining room will feature flat screen TVs, tile and an open, relaxed design.
Schedule: Demolition of the old Arby's began in July. The new store will be finished in October.
