Under Construction: East Ridge Arby's gets a new look

photo Target completion date is mid to late October for the new Ringgold Road store.

Project: Arby's near Exit 1 in East Ridge.

Location: 6302 Ringgold Road.

Owners: Restaurant Management Inc., Cincinnati, Ohio.

Why now: RMI officials said the Arby's building on site was outdated and in need of an upgrade.

History: The old Ringgold Road Arby's was built in the late 1970s. The building was one of the rectangular, cafeteria-style Arby's buildings. The new store's exterior will feature the pinnacle design, marked by a glass tower at the entrance.

Scope: RMI owns 18 Arby's restaurants in the greater-Chattanooga area and has plans to upgrade eight or nine more by this time next year.

Contractor: Ambrosetti Construction LLC., Chattanooga.

Architect: RMI in-house personnel.

Amenities: The new Arby's will seat around 40 diners and offer free Wi-Fi. The dining room will feature flat screen TVs, tile and an open, relaxed design.

Schedule: Demolition of the old Arby's began in July. The new store will be finished in October.
