Chattanooga man crashes plane

MONROE, Ga. - Federal authorities are investigating a small-plane crash in Walton County, Ga.

The fixed-wing, single-engine plane that crashed is registered to a Chattanooga man, according to Federal Aviation Administration records.

FAA spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen says a Bellanca 17 aircraft carrying two people and two dogs crashed in a field about a mile southeast of the Monroe-Walton County Airport Saturday night.

Bergen says the pilot was scheduled to land at the Greene County Regional Airport but was diverted because of weather.

Walton County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Keith Brooks said the pilot was alert, conscious and talking to investigators when he arrived on the scene. Authorities say a woman suffered minor injuries.

The FAA is investigating the crash and Bergen says the National Transportation Safety Board will determine probable cause.

Man accused of killing Bobo transferred

FRANKLIN, Tenn. - Zachary Adams, the man accused of murdering Holly Bobo, has been transferred to a jail in Franklin.

Josh DeVine, a spokesman for the Tennessee Department of Correction, said his transfer from the Chester County Jail to the Williamson County Jail had been planned.

"This was a procedural move several weeks in the works to a facility with more resources and manpower," DeVine said. "It has nothing to do with any specific development in the case."

Adams had presented problems for staff at the jail in rural Chester County where officers had described him as suicidal and said he had assaulted an officer.

Adams, 29, had been held without bond in Chester County since his arrest in the Bobo case. Adams is one of two men charged with the aggravated kidnapping and first-degree murder of Bobo, who was 20 years old when she was abducted from outside her home in April 2011.
