Fort Oglethorpe First Baptist holds art, services auction - Sept. 19-20

Members of First Baptist Church of Fort Oglethorpe have gathered up a multitude of miscellany for a Fine Arts/Crafts and Services Silent Auction to be held this weekend.

The original artworks, created by Georgia and Tennessee artists, will be available for sale on-site, as well as through a silent auction on the church's Facebook page. Additional donated art prints, miscellaneous items and various services, including house cleaning, baby sitting, gourmet dinner preparation and a beach vacation, also will be for sale.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20. The church is at 2645 Old LaFayette Road.

Members of the church will sell hot dogs, chips, drinks baked goods during the event. In addition, $1 donations will be accepted for a door prize of a homemade quilt.

From 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, a concert by local acts as well as a selection of Patsy Cline classics will be presented in the church parking lot.
