MANCHESTER, Tenn. - The Signal Mountain girls golf team won the Class A/AA state championship this afternoon at Willowbrook Golf Course.
The Lady Eagles shot a two-day total of 322 which topped Christ Presbyterian Academy by 18 strokes. Siarra Stout of CPA won medalist honors with a 3-over 147. Signal Mountain junior Bethany Burns placed third at 155 and freshman Taylor Gardner placed 10th with a 167. Meigs County junior Kaitlyn Sneed placed sixth in the medalist race. Boyd-Buchanan placed third at 347.
In the boys tournament, Notre Dame junior Reese Scobey finished runner-up after shooting a 3-under 141. Chattanooga Christian senior Lake Johnson placed sixth at 1-over 145. Davis Shore of Christian Academy of Knoxville won at 10-under 134. Boyd-Bucnahan placed seventh as a team.
