More than 1,000 museums nationwide will take part in Museum Day Live, which emulates the free admission policy of the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C.

Tickets to any one of these can be downloaded at Smithsonianmag.com/museumdaylive. Each ticket grants free admission to the ticketholder and a guest. Those who register for a ticket account also will receive the digital version of Smithsonian Magazine free for one year beginning with the October edition (no obligation; opt out at any time).

The complete list of participating museums can be found at www.smithsonianmag.com/museumday/venues.
