Former Calhoun (Ga.) High School, University of Tennessee and Tennessee Tech football standout wide receiver Da'Rick Rogers was released by the Indianapolis Colts today after being arrested for driving under the influence early Sunday morning in Indianapolis.

Rogers, who was inactive for Sunday's win over the Tennessee Titans, was replaced on the Colts' 53-man roster by safety Dewey McDonald. McDonald had been on the team's practice squad.

Rogers, signed last year by the Colts, played in five games and started three. He totaled 14 pass receptions for 192 yards and two touchdowns.

A report from FOX 59 in Indianapolis said he was arrested on the campus of Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. Colts cornerback Loucheiz Purifoy was a passenger in the car. The report said Rogers was pulled over at 3:35 a.m. after being seen "driving on and over the yellow line." He reportedly had a breathalyzer revealing a blood-alcohol content between .08 and 1.5.

Rogers led the Southeastern Conference in receptions and reception yards as a Tennessee sophomore in 2011 but was dismissed from the team for failing multiple drug tests. He completed his college career at TTU.
