Mother reclaims baby surrendered at Nashville fire station

A baby who was surrendered a month ago at an East Nashville fire station has been reclaimed by her birth mother, according to the state's Department of Children's Services.

DNA testing confirmed that the mother and baby girl are related.

In a statement, DCS spokeswoman Carrie Weir said the department is investigating the case and working to determine if the unnamed mother's home is safe.
