Five Years of Reader Favorites

Here it is — your 5th Anniversary Commemorative Edition of the Chattanooga Times Free Press Best of the Best awards. As the preeminent people’s choice awards for the Tennessee Valley, thousands of our readers have selected their favorite people, places, businesses and services to showcase the best of what our region has to offer.

I want to congratulate all of our 2012 winners and finalists for being chosen as the top performers in their field. You should all be proud to achieve this recognition from your community, whether this is your first selection or you are a perennial favorite.

Many of this year’s recipients have been selected as the top pick every year since we began. This year we celebrate their success as 5-year winners with a special commemorative emblem to honor their continued dedication to being the best. A full listing of the 5-year winners is on the next page of this section and these winners can be identified throughout the special double edition of our Best of the Best sections with the golden 5-year logo.

Since 2008, our readers have led the continued growth of the Best of the Best into the largest, most coveted and recognized people’s choice awards in our region. This year’s participation has reached even new levels of success with record voting and participation yet again. We have split the section into two editions to accommodate all of the categories and make the section a more enjoyable experience for the readers.

We encourage you to use this guide throughout the year when trying to decide everything from where to go for dinner to the best place to get your hair done. We have more than 160 categories encompassing food, health, beauty, finance, entertainment, education and much more. We’re sure you’ll recognize many of the winners and we hope you’ll also visit the ones that may be new to you.

We are grateful to all the readers who have helped choose the 2012 winners and we sincerely appreciate the tens of thousands of you readers and award recipients that have made the Best of the Best such a valued resource in our community over the past five years.
