The right lane of U.S. 27 over Fourth Street has been closed for an emergency repair.
The closure means southbound traffic will be restricted to a single lane in the construction area. U.S. 27 South traffic wishing to access the downtown area will be detoured via MLK Blvd.
Motorists should slow down and watch for slowed traffic, according to an email from the Tennessee Department of Transportation.
The repairs will be completed by 3 p.m., according to the email.
