A blaze damaged Land's Restaurant in Dunlap early Thursday and now firefighters have returned to the station.

U.S. Highway 127 was shut down for hours while firefighters fought to bring the fire under control, according to a post on the Dunlap Fire Department's Facebook page.

The restaurant, owned by Dunlap Mayor Dwain Land, is on the south end of town.

Fire department officials thanked firefighters from Pikeville and Walden's Ridge who responded to Dunlap to help, as well as Dunlap and Sequatchie County law enforcement for help with traffic control.
