Fugitive wanted in multiple area counties arrested after fleeing Collegedale police

Local authorities managed to capture a man who had warrants out for his arrest in four counties this afternoon after he ran from Collegedale police on a motorcycle on Friday morning.

A Collegedale police officer saw William "Terry" McDaniel, 40, allegedly breaking the speed limit on a motorcycle, according to a news release. The officer tried to stop him, but McDaniel fled.

McDaniel began having mechanical problems with the motorcycle, forcing him to pull over and flee on foot. Officers detained him shortly after with the help of a Hamilton County Sheriff's Office K9.

The fugitive division of the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office, along with several other local state and federal agencies, have been searching for McDaniel for several weeks due to the numerous felony and misdemeanor warrants stemming from incidents spanning several counties in Southeast Tennessee.

Authorities said Friday McDaniel reportedly made numerous threats to harm himself and members of law enforcement. It was determined he was a high-risk suspect who "warranted a direct, targeted operational plan of apprehension."

In addition to the Collegedale charges of speeding, felony evading arrest, driving while revoked and resisting stop, halt, frist, he has warrants from the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office, the Meigs County Sheriff's Office, the Catoosa County Sheriff's Office and the Rhea County Sheriff's Office.

The Collegedale Police Department and the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office are still conducting open investigations into incidents involving McDaniel.
