Beginning Monday, the right northbound lanes of Market Street will be closed at King Street, and traffic will be shifted to one lane northbound and one lane southbound for the duration of this work, according to a Chattanooga Department of Transportation news release.
King Street will remain open only for northbound right turn traffic.
The work should take about two weeks before the second phase will begin, where southbound traffic will be narrowed down to one lane and sent over to a northbound lane, while northbound traffic will narrow down to one lane.
King Street will fully reopen during this second phase of work, which is estimated to take approximately two additional weeks.
