One person has died after an early Wednesday morning crash on the 5000 block of Highway 58, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department.
Marvin E. Davis, 51, died shortly after 3 a.m. when the Volvo he was driving rotated onto its roof and caught fire. Attempts were made to save Davis were unsuccessful due to the damages the vehicle sustained during the crash, the release states.
Investigators determined the vehicle had been traveling north when it left the roadway. The Volvo then traveled along the roadside in the grass before hitting a cement embankment.
