New team members add to thriving business at XMC

As the second-largest Xerox agent in the United States, XMC continues to expand greatly since its origin back in 1991.

The local branch of the company offers equipment and services now geared to document management, better allowing people and businesses to store and retrieve their information. And with three new team members, XMC is sure to remain on top.

General Manager Jeff Duncan services the East Region, which includes Chattanooga and Knoxville, Tenn., and Huntsville and Florence, Ala.

"I drive the sales for these locations and help manage the day-to-day operations," Duncan said of his role with the company.

Although new to XMC this year, Duncan has been in the industry since 1982, starting out with his family business Duncan Office Equipment and Professional Machines. He brings with him great knowledge and experience. His family company sold to Danka Inc. in 1992 and Duncan became territory manager for Danka, covering northwest Tennessee and southwest Kentucky.

He then joined XMC to oversee the East Territory and to continue to serve and grow the customer base and meet the needs of local businesses.

"I've worked as a service tech and then moved on into sales and sales management," he said. "I love to watch the sales and work with new customers, and the service after the sale is made is very important to me."

Also new to the local XMC team this year is territory manager Patty Fuzzell. Servicing the Greater Chattanooga area, she brings 15 years of experience in sales and most recently served as a director of sales with a background in national accounts.

"I oversee business solutions for every type of client, from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies," she said, adding that her diverse background truly lets her work the entire range of the spectrum.

Last but not least is Ed Shrewsberry, the new recruiting and development manager for XMC's local team.

"My job is to locate the best sales talent and then put them through our extensive training process," he explained. "I also support two general managers and am really involved with all of our hiring."

XMC employees undergo an intensive Xerox training program for 6-8 weeks to get them certified in the product, to be able to better serve local businesses.

Shrewsberry brings with him more than 20 years' experience marketing to Fortune 500 companies, and is a professional who has demonstrated strong skills in creative business improvement project management, business development, strategic account selling, team building, and leadership for companies like Xerox Direct, Ricoh and Konica Minolta, according to his co-workers.

XMC as a whole has more than 80 staff members in 10 locations and serves the entire MidSouth, including most of Tennessee, and extends to cover key markets in northern Mississippi, Arkansas and Alabama.

XMC has offices in Chattanooga, Knoxville, Memphis, Nashville, Jackson and Savannah, Tenn.; Little Rock and Jonesboro, Ark.; and Florence and Huntsville, Ala.

As part of the company's commitment to its communities, XMC prides itself on consistently delivering high-quality products and services, all with a uniquely personal approach.

XMC, Inc. began as a subsidiary of an office supply company and initially served only Jackson and surrounding rural West Tennessee. Bob Hamilton, current President and CEO, took full ownership in 1992. Seeing the potential of the company and the Xerox product line, his vision was to expand into multiple markets throughout the Southeast by offering a pleasant customer service experience backed by competent technical support.

XMC now has nine offices within four states, but covers sales territories in five states including Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Georgia. XMC provides sales, leasing, service and supplies for products such as office printers, digital presses, office copiers, digital copiers and full document solution systems. XMC's Xerox products are designed for offices and production-printing environments. The company serves customers in every industry in cities throughout the Southeast.
