NFL player visits Earth Fare event

Frank Murphy, who played for NFL football teams in Tampa Bay, Chicago, Miami and Houston, is set to participate tonight in a family dinner night at the local Earth Fare grocery store on Gunbarrel Road.

Family Dinner Night, which Earth Fare has hosted every Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. since March, encourages healthy meal choices by allowing up to six children to eat free healthy meals with the purchase of a single adult meal of $5 or more. The event typically includes more than 100 participants.

Abby Shipley, Earth Fare's community relations coordinator, said the goal of Mr. Murphy's visit is to encourage young people to eat healthy food and lead active lives.

Mr. Murphy will speak about health and wellness, and children will be allowed to throw a football with Mr. Murphy or get autographs after he speaks at 6 p.m., she said.
