Nearly 200 Taco Bell restaurants across the Southeast raised $300,000 to support the American Red Cross and its disaster relief efforts in the wake of the April 27 tornadoes.

Taco Bell will present the checks to Red Cross officials Wednesday at Taco Bell restaurants in Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Cleveland, Tenn. -- two of the hardest hit cities. Taco Bell asked customers to donate spare change toward disaster relief, and Taco Bell parent company Yum! Brands contributed $10,000; Taco Bell Franchise owner Tacala, the largest franchisee in the U.S., gave another $50,000.
