Chattanooga attorney Jeffrey Maddux has been elected president of the Chattanooga Bar Association.
Maddux, a shareholder in the law firm of Chambliss, Bahner & Stophel, PC, is serving his second term on the CBA board. As president of the local bar association, he will be responsible for working with the board of governors to implement the policy and programs of the CBA.
Maddux has also served in leadership roles for the Chattanooga Bar Association Young Lawyers Division, the Federal Bar Association, Chattanooga Chapter, Mid-South Commercial Law Institute, Tennessee Bar Association's Leadership Law Program and the Board of Professional Responsibility of the Supreme Court of Tennessee.
Maddux has built a national practice representing clients on commercial litigation matters in the education and financial services industries. He has been recognized by Mid-South Super Lawyers as a rising star since 2014 for his practice in business litigation and bankruptcy. Maddux is a Chattanooga native and is an alumnus of Leadership Chattanooga and Boyd-Buchanan School.
Maddux is among several other current and former Chambliss attorneys who have served as president of the CBA, including Max Bahner, Hal North, Bill Pickering, Donna Pierce, John C. Stophel and J.B. Sizer.
Baker Donelson attorneys earn ABA Pro Bono awards
Richard B. Gossett, senior counsel in the Chattanooga office of the law firm of Baker Donelson, was recognized by the ABA Standing Committee on Pro Bono and Public Service as an ABA Free Legal Answers 2020 Pro Bono Leader for his dedication to pro bono service through participation in ABA Free Legal Answers. The ABA panel presents the annual recognition to individual attorneys, law firms, corporate law departments and other organizations that have provided extraordinary pro bono services through ABA Free Legal Answers.

Erlanger adds Megan Coylewright to Heart & Lung Institute
The Erlanger Heart and Lung Institute has added Megan Coylewright, MD, MPH, FSCAI, FACC, to its team of cardiology providers as director of the structural heart program. In this role, Coylewright will lead a team that treats valvular and structural heart disease while expanding access to state-of-the-art cardiovascular device clinical trials in the region.
Coylewright is board certified in the areas of cardiology and interventional cardiology. As a structural interventionalist, she performs minimally-invasive valve repair and replacement, offering alternatives to traditional surgery. Her expertise includes transcatheter aortic valve replacement, including expanded options for patients with diseased blood vessels or failed surgical valves.
Megan CoylewrightMost recently, Coylewright served as attending physician and associate professor of cardiovascular medicine at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. In this role, Coylewright founded the transcatheter mitral and tricuspid valve repair programs. She also has a passion for stroke prevention and performs two minimally-invasive procedures to reduce the risk of stroke (Watchman, PFO closure). She is a mentor to medical students, residents and fellows, and she was awarded the Department of Medicine teaching award for her work at Dartmouth.
Coylewright received her medical degree, master of public health and residency training at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, Md. While there, she also served as the health disparities coordinator at the Baltimore City Public Health Department. She completed an additional five years of fellowship training in cardiology, interventional cardiology and structural heart interventions at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.
CHI Memorial Foundation wins Stewardship & Values awards
CHI Memorial Foundation recently received the Model Stewardship Award, and Jennifer Nicely, CHI Memorial Foundation president, received the Philanthropy Values Award during the CommonSpirit Health's annual Philanthropy Education Summit.
The Model Stewardship Award recognizes the impact that the dollars raised make in CommonSpirit Health's hospitals. Those funds provide new equipment, improved buildings, and programs that support patients and caregivers.
CHI Memorial Foundation transferred more than $3.2 million to the hospital last year - nearly 10 times greater than its transfers in the previous year. The Foundation raised five-and-a-half dollars for every dollar invested.
"We are honored to receive this year's CommonSpirit Health's Philanthropy award for Model Stewardship," said Janelle Reilly, market CEO of CHI Memorial. "We are particularly pleased with this past year's results, especially during these challenging times when capital was tight and the needs great."

CBL Properties promotes Brad Hendrix and Karen Walker
CBL Properties has promoted Brad Hendrix to vice president - legal and Karen Walker to vice president - information technology.
Hendrix joined CBL in 2012 as associate counsel - management. Prior to joining the company, he spent a decade in private practice in both Birmingham and Montgomery, Alabama. His role includes oversight of general legal services and providing counsel on corporate governance, contracts and transactions as well as litigation, dispute management and resolution, risk management and insurance, construction matters, human resources, marketing, branding and public relations. Hendrix earned his law degree from Samford University's Cumberland School of Law.
Walker joined CBL in 2015 from Erlanger, and over the course of her career has assumed increasing responsibility including roles as a programmer, business and supply chain analyst, expanding into business intelligence and data warehouse. Walker most recently served as senior director of information technology, overseeing the technology services division, including network administration and hardware, as well as the ongoing implementation, development and utilization of the array of software platforms and data analytics evolution to meet the company's needs. She earned her bachelor's degree in computer science from Indiana University

Safehaven names Jacqui Ricketson as development liaison
Safehaven, a program of the Jimmy Simpson Foundation in Rock Spring, Georgia, dedicated to providing care for individuals with brain injuries, has named Jacqui Ricketson, CWCP, as business resource development liaison.
Jacqui RicketsonIn her new role, Ricketson will bring more than 30 years of experience in the medical field to serve residents, their families and Safehaven employees in various operational capacities, ranging from marketing to administrative duties.
"Having experienced a brain injury due to stroke at the age of 26, I have a very close personal connection to this field, and the care that Safehaven puts into creating a high quality of life for their residents has been extremely impressive to me," Ricketson said.
After experiencing a stroke at a young age, Ricketson devoted her career to healthcare, gaining experience as a Certified Workers Compensation Professional and working for a large case management company based in Atlanta.
"Jacqui's experience and passion for serving brain-injured adults showed through immediately. We know that the impact of her work will be felt far and wide across our organization, and we couldn't be more excited to welcome her to the Safehaven family," said Vickie Hodge, CEO of Safehaven and the Jimmy Simpson Foundation.
